Merry Maidens, near Mousehole
Each of the nineteen stones is about 1.2m (4 feet) high, and evenly spaced at about 3.7m (12-foot) intervals. There is a larger gap 6.2 (20 feet) located at the east, which may indicate an astronomically-related entrance to the circle. There is a well-known tradition that the stones represent maidens who were turned into stone for dancing on the Sabbath.

Cape Cornwall
This headland is England's only cape, and most probably given the name in error. 'Cape' is the name given to a piece of land which separates two different bodies of water, in this case the English and Bristol Channels. For a long time the headland was thought to be the most westerly point in Cornwall, and hence where the seas met. Mapping by the Ordnance Survey has shown that Lands End is actually a little further west.
On the Cape can be seen the very few remains of what was probably Cornwall's smallest mine, Cape Cornwall Mine. This appears to have commenced work in the 1830s and closed soon after. No record of it can be found again until 1864 when it was reopened by the somewhat grandiosely titled Cape Cornwall St Just Consolidated Tin and Copper Mining Company, Limited. This made history by apparently having a name bigger than the mine it operated.

Men-an-tol
The doughnut-shaped stone is best known for the traditional belief that it had the power to heal illnesses. To cure rickets and tuberculosis, naked children were passed through the hole three times and then dragged through the grass three times toward the east. Adults seeking cure from rheumatism or spinal troubles crawled through the hole nine times against the sun.
